Arc Flash Risk Assessment Starts With On-Site Data Collection

Arc Flash Risk Assessment as required by OSHA determines the risk level for all areas in your company in which your employees perform work. This assessment is critical to ensuring your workers safety. The Arc Flash Risk Assessment can assist with saving lives and money by creating safe work practices decreasing the likelihood of lost time accidents and injuries.

Ark flash risk assessment starts with on-site data collection. Electrical Safety Specialists also referred to as ESS has arc flash Engineering Technicians with numerous years of expertise involving commercial and industrial electrical installations and maintenance. This team of trained professionals have extensive training on the intricacies of the data collection process for Arc Flash Risk Assessment and has split the process into three phases.

Phase I

  • Data will be collected on-site with necessary information to complete the arc study. Our data collection will start at the exact location where your team takes power of the incoming electrical feed utility provider.

Phase II

  • After the information is collected in Phase I, Electrical Safety Specialists will build a SKM model of your system. A short circuit analysis, interrupt rating analysis, coordination analysis and incident energy analysis will all be conducted. In completing these analyses, ESS will be able to complete your comprehensive arc flash risk assessment. Following the completion of this process, calculated information will be used to create and print the corresponding arc flash labels.

Phase III

  • Once the engineering work is finished, a member of our team will then return to your job site and install 100% of your arc flash labels. By the time we leave your facility, your staff will be equipped with knowledgeable training on existing hazards, electrical PPE requirements and all hazards will have been identified by our qualified specialist here at ESS.

ESS provides an extra layer of quality to our studies by using 2 unique methods.
