Arc Flash Electrical PPE Requirements – Review Our Guide

Electrical Personal Protective Equipment (electrical PPE) usage and guidelines should be regularly reviewed. By working with companies and providing them with industry standard information is how ESS ensures all of our clients and their employees are working safely. Arc flash electrical PPE features head-to-toe protection against electrical hazards so your employees can work efficiently and in the most safest way possible.

Electrical PPE is an important line of defense in arc flash safety. It includes fire and heat-resistant gear with insulated tools to protect the entire body from the dangers of arc flash.

The employee should have protection for their skin, vision and hearing, but determining the correct electrical PPE can be challenging. Electrical Safety Specialists, your Kansas City Service Disabled Veteran Owned Arc Flash Nationwide Training Specialist has developed a guide to help you provide the correct protection

We will briefly highlight the guide below, but encourage you to view the entire guide here.

It is important to remember that both the NFPA 70E and OSHA require PPE if an employee will be exposed to electrical hazards. All PPE must now be classified as Arc Rated (AR). Flame Resistant is no longer acceptable.

ESS is here to help you ensure you’re using the most current and protective gear.
